This vest has been one of the most popular items in my wardrobe from the day I bought it from Costa Blanca at the Champlain Mall eight years ago. Every time I wear it, strangers literally stop to open doors for me or just stop to say Hi. As I adjust its’ collar and pull up my boots, I know, it’s going to be a good day.
Back then, I may have glammed it up with a white turtleneck, dark denim bell-bottoms and platform boots. But today’s trend is all about plaid, skinny jeans and riding boots. Pairing black and navy make the perfect blend to this weekend outfit, which just happens to be up there on my color chart as a clear/spring. Adding matching rust boots and bag to the mix creates a kick-ass country chic vibe.
Monochromatic combos are back, but you all know my love for contrast and this outfit definitely owns it with its’ dark color palette and mix of styles. So next time you have your eye on a furry vest, invest! Not only is it a classic piece that never goes out of style; it will make you, and even strangers, smile.
