TRANSITION FROM SUMMER TO FALL

Back to school and changing leaves are a clear indication that summer is sadly leaving us and autumn is near. As the warm weather is quickly cooling down, one thing that doesn’t need to fade is our summer wardrobe. I’m all about being efficient, and as your style coach, it’s my job to teach you the same.

During Sylvie’s Summer Shopping Spree last June, I chose pieces that could easily help transition her new wardrobe into fall. You can never go wrong with a print, especially in black and white. They are fashion trends that we get to enjoy every season and never go out of style. Pair it with a bold colour top and be pleasantly surprised.

Want to make this outfit even more fabulous? Throw on a white blazer. Yes, white after Labour Day is OK! This once fashion faux pas is now a thing of the past. Just make sure to match the proper fabrics to the seasons; like linen for summer and heavy cotton and tweed for the cooler months.

Sandals always seem to be the last summer item to be put away until temperature falls to zero. If this is the case for you, darker tones are always best. If you’re a chilly Willy like me, op for closed toe wedges or heels with capris; or even better, ankle booties. They always look great with crop pants!

Summer vacation may be over and the camper might be packed away, but there’s still time to enjoy your great summer finds. Pair them with your favorite fall items for a smooth transition to the cool side.
